Let’s take a look at the difference between list view and tree view in PageZephyr. This is the PageZephyr main window on the screen. On the left is a list of files and I’m in list view right now which give me an alphabetical listing of the file, but it doesn’t tell me where they are. If I need to know where the file is, I can always right click or control click on the file and do Reveal In Finder, but we do have a view mode in PageZephyr called tree view – and I’m going to bring up the Preference File here.

Under the document display area we have list or tree so let’s switch over to tree view and see what that does. You can see here in tree view now that it shows me the volume where things are located. The Users is my local computer and it’s showing this it has this folder on my desktop with all these files in it. This volume here is a training volume, its a network mounted volume and in the public folder I have a document listed here.

I can click on that document to see the content. So we have list view and tree view. The downside of tree view is that it will take a lot more clicks and that you may have to resize the window or resize this so that you can see what’s going on in these deep folder structures, because that is going to keep folding off to the right.
