Proprietary file types from applications like Quark and InDesign have a knack for hiding from Mac OS X’s built-in search app, Spotlight. For users will vast stores of these types of files, search can be an awkward process of trial and error. Markzware’s new PageZephyr knows how to look for these types of proprietary files.
Let’s take a look at the difference between list view and tree view in PageZephyr. This is the PageZephyr main window on the screen. On the left is a list of files and I’m in list view right now which give me an alphabetical listing of the file, but it doesn’t tell me where they are. If I need to know where the file is, I can always right click or control click on the file and do Reveal In Finder, but we do have a view mode in PageZephyr called tree view – and I’m going to bring up the Preference File here.
